Women and Girl’s Cricket

SENIOR WOMEN’S ELIGIBILITY
The senior women’s team play in the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association (MPCA) Women’s League. The competition is open to all female players who are at least 12 years old by September 1st of the playing season. Note, there are also junior girl’s opportunities at the club (see below), and female players of all ages and abilities are strongly encouraged to get involved.
MATCHES AND TRAINING
We play a mixture of T20 (20 overs each) and One Day matches (30 overs each) on Sunday afternoons from 1pm. Preseason kicks off around August and matches run from October to February, with a break over the festive season. Training is on Wednesday nights from 6pm. Women’s team members are also very welcome to play in the men’s competition. Carrum Downs was the first club in Victoria to play a female cricketer back in 1975.
UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT
We enjoy plenty of support from the Carrum Downs Cricket Club, which is fully committed to promoting and growing women’s and girls’ cricket. Uniforms, equipment, and expert coaching are all provided. The club is also family friendly with lots of social events throughout the year.
We are a fun and active group with a diverse range of ages, backgrounds, and interests. We share a love of cricket as well as the desire to encourage and increase female participation in the sport. Whether you are new to cricket, returning to cricket, or just love to play cricket contact us today.
